What remains after the Pride march has passed?
Throughout 2026, I travelled across Europe as part of my ongoing Pride Tour. I attended Prides in cities with very different histories, political realities and queer communities. As a journalist, I reported on protests, policies and the wider struggle for LGBTQ+ rights. But some of the stories I encountered were more personal.
Pride Stories 2026 brings together seven original stories inspired by seven Prides:
• Brussels
• Pristina
• Warsaw
• Thessaloniki
• Bratislava
• Helsinki
• Belgrade
Each story zooms in on a person, place or moment that shaped my experience of that Pride: an activist I met, a conversation I kept thinking about, a space carrying the history of a community, or an encounter that changed how I saw the city around me.
These are not conventional reports or comprehensive accounts of each Pride. They are personal stories about the people and places behind the marches.

ABOUT THE PRIDE TOUR
The Pride Tour is my long-term journey to attend at least one Pride in every European country. Through reporting, photography and personal storytelling, I document how Pride changes from one place to another and reflects the state of LGBTQ+ rights. It is my way to explore LGBTQ+ communities across Europe.
