Discover: #1 Pride is protest
The first issue of the magazine is out now!
Each pride commemorates the Stonewall Inn uprising in New York more than 50 years ago. At the same time, pride is rooted in the here and now, as a party and a manifestation. Because pride is celebration, pride is love, pride is freedom, pride is liberation. And pride is — historically — first and foremost a protest. In this issue we explore the possible meanings of that protest.

Chasing the Rainbow is a magazine about Pride that explores the LGBTQ+ community across Europe.
Foreword
Every year, millions of Europeans take part in the dozens of Prides held in every corner of the continent. This impressive mass of queers and allies rallies behind one message: we exist, we are one, we want to be seen.
And yet each individual participant is drawn to these colourful parades for different, but very personal reasons. Some seek to connect, others to make their voices heard. Some want to celebrate community, others to engage in open political struggle. More often it is a combination of all of these.
I myself have been chasing the rainbow flag in 2024. During those nine Prides in eight countries, I understood once again that Pride is so much more than the exuberant celebration that takes over the streets of my home city of Brussels every year. Pride is — historically — first and foremost a protest. And that is what this first issue is all about.
